I'm not sure if its due to the algorithm or the volume of people subscribed.

Fair enough. I do think I've heard comments made about exactly what you're describing. It was just a thought.

When was the last time 3AA set  consisted of simply a figure in a box?  F-Legion the year before Blanc Hunter?

I like the big art boxes, Brent does a great job designing them, though honestly they're cumbersome to keep.

I don't see them going back to simple baggies and boxes.

I still say there should be regular and lite 3AA packages: Pay more money for a set full of goodies or just like $50 or so for the membership, shirt and a card. I do like collecting those cards...

The sets before F-Legion were pretty elaborate packages as well, not as large as the current ones, but still pretty big.

People actually complained a lot about F-Legion not coming in a box.

I was never 3aa until I saw F-legion then I jumped right in. Blanc is still one of my favourite figures of all time. And while I do love the look of the newer packaging in the end it just gets stored away empty while the figures get displayed.... Apart from you JJ, you will stay in the box, hidden away in a cold dark place never to see the light of day again. Twisted Evil

I assume that would defeat the purpose of a 3AA set because it wouldn't be affordable to make the toy, awesome packaging etc. due to lower quantities and the sticker chock would drive more people away from the set which would lead to even more inflated prices.

so why bother doing 3AA at all.

Or

To keep 3AA set the same price of lets say US$ 200.
The 3AA discount only would probably have to be priced between US$ 150 - 200.
Economy of scale baby.

What's so hard about just doing a figure with some added figure accessories in a box designed by Brent, add a card and a poster. Price it around $150-200. Add the discount. And call it a day.

Yes. Greg or Gar mentioned something being offered for sale 'before 3AA' quite recently (in the last week or so).

Did I?
I do expect a 3AA 2016 but that's because for me it's part of a yearly cycle.

I have no info though (wish I had, because I am extremely curious)
Sadly I am completely in the dark about the plans of threeA.
Gregory and Gimbat might know, not me.

Oh wait, Gregory:

I have no fucking clue.
Big pack, small pack, one figure, multiple figures.

Von Nom, Maybe?
Great way to get another WWR figure out there.
Or just the Square on tracks which in my opinion would be pretty cool as well.

I think keeping the 3AA price low at around $75 and offering a couple random Gacha toys with the membership card would be fun. Maybe 1 Eddy 1/6 and 1 Square 3AGO random colorways per membership?

Save people some money, don't make a bunch of crap that most people don't want, don't bog down the hatchery too much and keep company shipping costs on the kits very low.

"Bunch of crap that most people don't want?"
That's very subtile.

You can say what you want but 3AA packs don't consist crap in the past couple of years.
Not all packs had something I would buy if it wasn't offered as 3AA pack.
But that's not the point, I did buy them because they were part of the 3AA pack.
threeA always goes a couple of extra miles with these releases and that's great.

An 1/6th Eddy, a 3AGO Square and a card?
That's pretty close to an US$150 set you're talking about, not US$75.
Besides not much fun in getting some warmed up Tokyo Venture exclusive toys.
I'd rather be surprised and have something special, even though it might turn out to be something I don't collect.

Oh wait, I collect 3AA packs,
Nothing special, isn't fun to collect.
So I hope threeA still goes and don't listen.

x43x wrote:Make the pack $500 and give us TK Hunter

That's pretty elitist.
Not that many people are willing to go there. Even harder if they don't want a TK Hunter.
If you don't spend US$3,333.33 on threeA toys a year you can ignore that 3AA TK Hunter pack. Wink

US$150 - US$200 is a sweet spot I think.

Anyway Albino started a 3AA 2016 thread here
We can discuss further over there and keep this place for 3AA 2015 discussion.

I wouldn't mind a TK Hunter, but I agree, not as a 3AA 2016 pack.
