I've been using safari, and I just upgraded my OS to El Capitan. No clue what kind of anti-virus protection I'm using, whatever comes pre-loaded on macs I guess.

x43x - added adblock plus to my browser this morning after multiple bullshit redirects.  Works like a charm!

Any ideas to counter it on smartphone?
I view the forum on classic mode since mobile can't do "post since last visit" and it's been force redirected for virus check every single time Mad

I'm not sure which setting I'm on but one is blue and I use the grey one on my smart phone. It has the view posts since last visit and I don't have any issues (although I used to) there is an ad bar at the top of the screen but as long as I don't click that I'm alright (for now). I'm in Ireland though, don't know if that matters or not and I use AVG free virus protection but that never detects anything.

Thanks for the heads up x43x, I feel like a lost tourist with a road map sometimes when it comes to the internet/technology. Adblock plus has been added to my browser.

Morttichi try selecting the "request desktop site" fixes it partially but this crap is really getting old.  FOR THE LOVE OF GOD KILL THE DAMN AD'S!!!!! When whomever is responsible for controlling the content on this forum site needs to moderate where the AD's come from or what they are leading to, because at this point they are potentially a risk of a virus or compromising someone's computer or device.  Not once did I ever have an issue on the older forum this new site has been nothing but an eyesore when it comes to certain aspects of the site along with functionality of it.

I guess the old one was the official 3a forum so what exactly is this place then an unofficial fan site? Which would explain the lack of activity, sometimes I feel like there's only 2 or 3 people chatting back and forth. Why did they have to shut down the official forums anyway.

It's apparently a problem with hundreds forums on Forumotion. We've reported it to them and are hoping for a resolution soon.

Supposedly it's been fixed for most forums today. If you are still running into a problem with ads and redirects, please provide this info for me in the thread (if you can) and I'll get the info over to the web gurus at forumotion:

- Ads displayed on PC, on tablet, on mobile (android, apple,...)
- Image location (copy and then past here)

- The link location (copy and then past here)

- Link on the ads and copy-past the final link

I see those type ads on the 3a page all the time, underneath the line that says "home, FAQ etc." I don't ever click on them but every now and then I get some ad that takes over the page completely which means I have to shut down and refresh. I still don't get why they had to become an unofficial forum, I mean cost? Surely 3a can afford it. Maybe it was Ash's way of getting away from us pesky meddling kids.
BUT even so many thanks due to all/any mods on here, Gar, Gimby, etc. sorry to whoever I forgot to mention.

The other forums were unofficial as well. They weren't linked anywhere on the main sites from threeaonline. This is the third (fourth?) migration we've done with the boards. The older forum was attached to the previous server which was no longer being renewed and not part of the current site and admin team. Due to complications we were unable to migrate the data from the previous forums to the new one. Ash was paying out of pocket for the previous host, so Gimby, Gar, Cody, or myself would have to be paying out of our pockets for this current forum to upgrade things

Yeah, even the first forum wasn't an "official" 3A Forum.
Just a cool place to shoot the shit and gather to discuss toys and art we loved.

I never seen any ads here (on any of my devices).

While Forumotion is looking into it and if ads are really bugging, you can get Adblock here (it's free and easy to use and will help you with ads on other sites as well):

I had problems with the ads and redirects on my iphone and ipads when the board migrated here and eliminated them by using Adblocker Browser to view the site. In addition to getting rid of the ads it also gives you the option to view the site(s) in mobile and desktop mode.

In addition to Adblocker Browser there is also Purify which is the iOs ad blocking app version of uBlock.
