So I just talked to s buddy that's at sdcc and he talked to Gregory,
Greg says these are test/protos and are indeed statue like. But that the end product will be fully articulated. They just wanted to show off spidey.

Makes perfect sense.

It will be interesting to see how close to those statues 3A gets with the articulated ones. It will be quite a trick to pull off that squat.

Looking at those new images it's much easier to see how crazy the amount of "cheating" there is with these statues. The final articulated production pieces will look very different. These look like very early prototypes, purely based on drawings. Engineering limitations are almost completely disregarded at this point.

But I love the design. Would be happy with set of those four statues. Smile

Yeah I was thinking the same thing, it'll be great if we'll be able to get spider into that crouching pose but I'm not holding my breath.

It's the ab crunch area that will either make it work or not.

That 1000Toys figure is exactly what I mean with very different. Super posable figure needs to have very exposed joints, or the joint need to be covered with cloth (like Hot Toys Spider-Man) You could not ad that 3A rubber skin on that 1000Toys figure and still have the same articulation.

I'm sure 3A will figure something out, but either with heavily compromised design or heavily compromised posability.

Since the Spidey squat pose is so iconic, maybe they'll add a molded knee cap to snap on to hide the exposed joint.

I would not bet on this looking like that and posing well. I wish I dig the design but I do not, the weird proportions between the torso and the legs just don't do for me.
Well, it's kind of a like it and buy it or don't like it and don't buy it. It's the second for me, unless there is some big change it's a sure no.

Needs to articulate otherwise what's the point? Switch out legs for that specific pose while the rest remains articulated is fine. But if it's just a switch out limb statue...pass. Looks cool though. I've liked all the marvel stuff so far. Hence why i've bought them all.

It's an early prototype that they wanted to show the fans. This is far from what the final figure will be like, seeing as this is a statue like fig at this stage.. That's why people are wondering how the final/articulated one will look like when its officially revealed, hence the squat discussion.

I kinda like and dislike the look of Spidey. I dislike the armour look but hopefully once we see official pics, it will draw me in. Would love to have a 3A spidey with my Spidey figs

Quote from Gregory in FB- "Yep. It's the new teen body. Peter Parker controls the Spider-Bot Tetsujin 28 style"

So the big spidey is actually a remote-controlled bot? I like that idea
Love those camera accessories BTW

The actual spiderbot looks articulated now not a statue like in sdcc. The lack of pose is a touch troublesome though. Hope he has a good range of articulation. If we can get that stellar crouching pose is yet to be seen.

Very good concept by ash to imagine that the spidey going out into the field n getting bash up without pain is a robot controlled by Peter Parker. Initially did not even thought about getting one but now may grab one if they come as a set

Very nice touch, I always loved Winson Creations and photo gear some of them came with.

I wonder what is hiding under Peter Parker's mask.

I really like the idea of a remote controlled Spidey and the teen Peter! But... those holes for the eyes in Peter's mask... damn they are distracting! And I don't get why the spider chest logo designs are so different on the bot and Peter. They look like they were designed by two different people.

That said: the set looks great and really looking forward to seeing more dynamic poses.
