3AA 2016 Discussion

Membership pack looks great, a very neat package indeed, the one thing that seems to be missing is any loyalty extras for repeat members?

Did I miss something?

Well I think the folks that have been asking for a more simplified pack are happy and those that didn't want another huge box are happy. No chance of another t-shirt debacle. Realistic timeline of shipping estimate of around 6months later.

As far as I know there isn't an extra item for repeat members. Some might be turned off by that, but you still get to reuse your discount when you re-up.

Grudgingly going to renew.  Wish there was some color to the figure and the lack of ankle motion drives me nuts.  Hate trying to balance figures on the sides of their boots.  Bummer about tee shirt but love the stickers and always love the catalog.  Once again great packaging by Brent.

Over and out for 3AA 2016, see you again in 2017. Not compelling this year. Last 2 years were great. Sure, at some stage I'll miss the discount but total buy will be drastically reduced and any buy will have to be a considered purchase. Still got stuff awaiting delivery ordered late 2015 to look forward to in 2016. Still love 3a, but it's going to have to be the absolute exceptional stuff only in 2016.

I appreciate the smaller packaging as well. My biggest problem besides costs is space and having to toss those huge boxes and packaging.

I agree, though I sadly didn't get 3AA in 2014. You got:

Shirt
Art book
Art print
Translucent print
Patch
Panties for renewing members
Panties art box
Big pretty box in which to keep stuff (boxes are useful).

I got 3AA '15, less bang for your buck but still a VERY handsome package.

The lack of shirt this year has an explanation: we're paying the same price as the two previous years, yet all we get is a $150 figure and some very lesser paper stuffs...

Obviously this year we are being charged for the money 3AA lost in the shirt-&-card debacle of last year.

Catalog? Really? you're sending us advertising material inside and calling it a goodie?

And the poster is from the Shitty 9 comic, not even a new original painting like last 2 years.

I'm not complaining about the downgrade, which is not bad per se... I'm complaining that this downgrade costs the same or nearly the same as last two years' membership packs.

BUT... Still I might re-up. Just for the 15%.

German import fees,low €, taxes and forced "services" adds a 1/3 maybe 50% on bamba buyings now ...european  aftermarket seems cheaper...

Opened, I mean the huge boxes. I keep "um & ah"ing over getting rid of the foam and using them as storage boxes. Kinda outta storage space though. Need to biff some more boxes.

When it's said that it's poster tube style packaging, what exactly does that mean? I know it should be obvious, but, in my experience, tubes get beat up the most in transit and I can't imagine the pack being it's own mailer. Will the tube be in a box, which sounds redundant, or is the tube going to be extra sturdy or what? And call me picky, but, the labeling on the tube looks cool and I'd like to preserve that it's just if it is its own mailer then it'll be covered in scuffs, postage stickers, scraped up, punctured, dinged, everything, so you might as well leave off the label and save your money there.

Yup, I've thought about that as well. Maybe they'll wrap up the tube in that green paper?

Maybe they'll wrap up the tube with a missing 3AA 2016 tee.

We've probably had it for awhile now, but I just noticed the timer on the blog. Just like the old days, right?

Brent says the tube will be wrapped in cellophane and it is not shipping with the tube as the outer box. The tube will be placed in a shipping box.

Will Von be bagged or blistered inside the toob?

Dunno the specifics on that part. There'll be padding of some kind to offer protection in shipping.

Any word on re-sub member bonus?

I agree with the camp that likes less packaging.  My storage space looks like the Arc of the Covenant would fit right in.

Im sad to see the artbook go away since that's a big plus for me.  Hoping the catalog is not the type we get at cons (advertising) and at least more like a small photo book instead.

Renewal will happen for me.  Really hope to get  more heads up on big-ticket items.  Transformers is coming and I will want 1 month to grt ready. That's 1 month before a FIXED hard date.

I don't know the business details between the publisher and 3A when it comes to the Shitty 9 comic, but, I would have preferred a side story, or a collected English translation of what's been released so far of the comic instead of the catalog.
