Coming in 2017, artist and writer Giannis Milonogiannis in collaboration with Boom! Studios and 3A proudly announce a new 1/12th Scale Collectible Figure line from the critically acclaimed cyberpunk web-comic series OLD CITY BLUES.

The year is 2049, New Athens is a city teeming with corruption. From mech smugglers and drug dealers, to crooked politicians and all-too-powerful corporations, the city is at the mercy of high-tech criminals. It’s up to Solano and the New Athens Special Police to keep the city in order.

story is exact almost to appleseed no? that mech looks like a landmate also. seems very much inspired by Shirows Appleseed. interested in seeing/learning more.

I know nothing about Milonogiannis but I'll hit the links and check him and OCB out now for sure.

He's also an artist on Prophet, which is one of the best comics out there

Though I must say, the design is pretty obviously just a Landmate ala Shirow's old design:



But hey, who cares right? I've seen so many mechanical designs practically everything out there has a piece of something in it. Guess that's why I like(d) WWR so much...

the story is also VERY Appleseed-ish at least per description i read. just re-read the Appleseed manga so its fresh in mind. assuming its a homage to shirow which is cool so going to peep comic online.

wht i liked about WWR and wht got me hooked early was that the designs were unlike anything i had seen, the bertie and the bramble i.e.. so ugly in good way.

Like I said, doesn't really bother me much - if it means we're getting a 1/12th Landmate (minus some arms) with awesome 3A weathering then I'm all in.

I read two volumes of this a few years back (think 1 and 2) - it was pretty nice with lots of Manga and a touch of grumpy old man Dredd in it. Top comic. Folks should hunt it down.

Things are turning out real nice

I stumbled across this comic and the collab project while doing a random 1/12 figure search, and WOW.  The comic seems right up my alley.
I plan on picking up the hardcover for volume one.  

I also found a write-up on the ToysRevil blog.  The prototype for the lead character was apparently shown at the threeA US Venture show last year.  I can't believe there hasn't been more noise being made about this; it looks freaking AWESOME!

Looks like it's been a year since the last comment on this great story. If it wasn't for 3A to put this on the spotlight, i would've totally missed it. Gregory, any update on 3A's Old City line? Or has this been put in the back burner?
