Look for AG1-5 batteries, they're little watch batteries. I get them from my local dollar store, a pack of 5 for $1.25.
Thanks, thumbtack82! Off to do a battery run right now.
And I've decided I don't care if the tread rollers are paint-locked. Really doesn't matter. All the other joints are fine, so posability isn't an issue.

Membership showed up on Tuesday in San Diego, CA.
These guys are great additions to the square horde. I'm liking the mix of materials on them which helps me out with the ABS portion that I wasn't too keen on with the EVOL or 3AGO squares. It makes the weathering come off a lil nicer too. Death Buddy set is a hit.

Just got back from vacation and found these guys waiting for me. What a wonderful welcome home present. Look great with all the other crew. Anyone else notice that the tracks are on backwards?

Tracks backwards? Mine look alright, not sure what the difference is myself.
Also has anyone loosened up the wheels & got the tracks working?

My tracks appear correct. If yours are backward, Gwahir, it shouldn't be too difficult to pop them off and put them back on correctly.
As I mentioned in an earlier post, all four upper rollers on mine are paint-locked. I saw this video and decided not to attempt fixing them because it would probably just make things worse:

The tracks don't need to work for me to enjoy them.

I'm the same, I figured if I had the wheels so they could move perfectly I'd still only put them in the position I wanted and never move them anyway so I decided to leave them as is, perfect!

Re: 3AA 2017 Discussion
If you look at the treads, each link overlaps the one next to it. The way the tracks are currently set up, the overlaps are on the leading edge of the links. It seemed to me that the overlap should be on the trailing edge. Maybe I'm mistaken. Either way, there was enough give on the treads that they came off without too much difficulty. Also, getting the treads off gave very easy access to the bogey wheels to free them up from any paint lock.

Re: 3AA 2017 Discussion
Finally got a chance to open up my set. I think I see what you mean with the treads, Gwahir, but if you look at the painting that's how they are depicted. I'm not a tank or tread expert, but perhaps the way they were set up with the overlaps being on the leading edge of the links helps them dig into the ground and propel the Square forward faster?
Anyway, I wasn't a Square fan in the past, but these ones may be turning the tide for me. I'll have to play with them a bit. Gotta find some batteries.
By the way on a side note: I understand the desire to want the treads to move, you obviously want the toy to function the way it was intended to function. But even if you have one with the treads functioning correctly, it's not like they are going to be able to move as you try and roll the Square forward on the ground. The treads will only move if you use your fingers to move them.

Maybe...either way they look good.

Completely agree. These guys are a static display, but its nice to know they could move, if you wanted them to...
By the way, like the new avatar.

The more I play with these squares, the more I like them. Best square design by far. I like the hard plastic as well. And the tracks make much more sense to me than OG short legs. Definitely gives them much more stability and character.

Re: 3AA 2017 Discussion
2 more months until the end of 2017. Where on Earth did time fly. Well, I guess that makes me start to wonder what is in store for the remainder of 2017 for 3A drops? Any hints we can look forward to? Also any discussion based on what 2018 membership package would be? It has been quiet on whats in the roster for the remainder of the 2017 year. Looking forward to the discussion and thoughts of what is yet to come. 2017 has been incredible thus far.
Re: 3AA 2017 Discussion
I'm hoping the Warbot will be within an achievable price range. I think that's all I'm really looking for.
Next year's pack I hope will fit in with my mainly WWR collection. If it doesn't suit me I'll consider dropping out all together although I'd prefer to stay.
I'm in for 1/6 WWR or TK pack.
I'm out if it's a Pascha or anything like that.
I've said it before I think there should be different packs for different folks. I think the Pascha lines have enough people to warrant that and I also think there are equal amounts who aren't into any of that.
Just my 2c.

Re: 3AA 2017 Discussion
i dropped out last year and at first its sucked cuz of the emotional sorta regret i had instantly, being 3AA used to be such a big deal to me for so long. but i realized those days have passed and that regret faded pretty quick.

Whatever it is, keep it simple, keep it reasonably priced, keep it fresh and interesting and 1/6 scale. I think at 1/6 you can keep it at a mid range price point that 1/3rd can't give you yet still maintaining good detail and aesthetics that AP or AGO can't give you. Just my opinion. I'd like to see some new fresh AK or at the very least some new interesting character.

Re: 3AA 2017 Discussion
I had one foot out the door last year and it was only because I liked the membership pack that I re-upped. Not including the membership, I only bought two pieces this year, Warbot will be my third if the price isn't outrageous. I was hoping those different Berties that were teased a couple of years ago would have come out this year, preferably in WWRp scale - guess not. Maybe ThreeA will pull a rabbit out of a hat and put a membership pack together that will pull me in for another year, but I kinda doubt it.

May be finally the reissue of the pack, since announced so much time, Yama / Naga 1/6, to celebrate the 10 years and to remix the loyal fans who followed since the last years ....

i dont think 7471 will be the membership gift, as factory nom will ship next month and 7471 will surely be produced with reg nom in small numbers as an upcoming premade drop...
Warbot would be a smart gift, as most of us loves Bots and Warbot is an iconic 3A design, that is appealing to vets and newbies...
