3AA 2018 - FUTURE MORT 13!

My overwhelming feeling about 3A is that there has been so little offered this year.

It hasn’t been helped by the 3AA lie (sorry, there is no other word that can be used) that ash properties would ONLY be available to 3AA.

Every time I see 3A off globetrotting to another show I scratch my head - more hype, less toys. More exclusives, less bamba.

After many years 3AA 2018 came down to a mix of loving Mort, wanting more 2000AD and having access to unique stuff with the 3AA only rule. 2000AD is now gone, there haven’t really been much offered (where’s all the unique stuff like handsome Wu, JC, Emma the bitch, Andy) and Mort looks great.

I think 2019 comes down to what’s the figure. I can’t pretend to be motivated by a discount when there is so little to spend it on.

Sorry this is what it’s come to ash. You promised there would be 2000ad and there was no more 2000ad. You said WWR would be exclusive and it wasn’t exclusive. You promised a whole raft of stuff and there’s no sign of it.

Frankly i don’t think most 3A people give a fuck about transformers. That’s a whole different company. I don’t need 15% off that company.

Final point - nothing but love for gar and those interfacing with the final few of us here at this wake for the company that was.

I agree with all that people are saying. Im not active on here clearly but I've been collecting for about 6 years and I'm Canadian. So the 15% discount is basically to save the exchange rate lol. I bought this years 3AA with the acceptance that I'll probably buy nothing else. I've only paid for Megatron also.
So yeah, as long as the upcoming 3AA is a cool figure and the price doesn't keep jumping up and up, I'm in.

For me if the figure doesn't fit with my mostly WWR 1/6 collection then I'm out. The 15% isn't any incentive anymore especially with the lack of releases and rising prices. A few years ago I remember buying so much that the 15% discount meant that 3aa actually paid for itself.
This year the flat out lies we were told left a very bad taste but even with all that no criticism is aimed at Gar or Gregory or any other mods here, their help is the only tenuous link we have left with ThreeA.

As a fellow Canadian yeah that 15% off REALLY helps. I haven't bought as much the past couple years but the ones I did buy were not cheap so the 15% helped lower that for savings. Also back from Vacation and Future Mort is here so that's cool. Gonna open it up soon enough.

I made a total of 5 purchases on bambaland this year including 3AA, one of which was a book and another I ended up passing on to someone else. Missed out on the DP Bramble as I had to limit my spending this year, and was also on the fence about Ashtrolad but passed for the same reason. I don't buy the Transformers figures, the Fang Gals aren't really my thing (even though I bought the Neapolitan set), and it feels to me like there has been a focus on those lines this year, especially now that Optimus and Bumblebee are back up on Bambaland currently. The GOGOGO stuff also holds no interest for me, but I know Ash's creative drive will take him wherever it will, that's part of what got me into 3A I think.

I might sign up again for 2019 if I like the pack as there are things I'm still interested in, such as classic berties (more DDV2 please!), Popbot's the Photographer and I hope AK's Blasted Bastard happens, I was really excited when it was announced that was happening this year.

My Mort is almost here but has been held up by the rotating postal strike here in Canada. So close yet so far!

Credit where it’s due, Mort came on Friday, and he is stellar. I’ve not even messed with him much out of the box. Swopped a hand. Haven’t played with the coat yet. Some small finishing niggles on mine, but I imagine those were happenstance. Overall, super pleased. Some of the photos I’d seen weren’t terribly inspiring, but it was poor flash lighting and odd figure angles and setup that were probably the cause of that feeling. Chuffed with him in hand.

Kudos on the box as well. Beautifully designed experience opening it.

Anyone any idea what the U.K. customs charges are on this as I see mine has just been nabbed by the fuzz...

Anyone on the west coast of USA get their 3AA yet? Bambaland has ceased to exist for me so I can't check to see if it is being delivered to my home or work. I can't remember which one since I ordered it like a year ago. I'm right there with several of you in your thoughts on 3A. Disappointed. The big pep talk before this years 3AA got me to commit again. My only other purchase this year was the AK book which I already owned, but in the larger/better size. I really believed there would be something for those of us that collect the discarded lines, AK, TK, WWR, etc. I was wrong. I get it. It is Ashley's business that he wants to make money from. Transformers and Paschas make money. Zombs don't make money. I would love to buy a new Zomb.

Bambaland cease to exist? It's working for me. My estimated delivery based on tracking should be tomorrow. But we'll see. I'm in Cali.

Yeah. All my devices won’t let me access Bambaland due to their expired security certificate from 3 days ago. Thanks for info on your tracking.

My phone wouldn't let me access Bamba due to it being unsafe. I clicked on the "advanced" button which allowed me to "proceed to site anyway".

Should all be resolved by end of week. Issues with Volusion

Just a heads up to you miracleBubbles,... I'm San Diego based and my 3AA landed with a rattle of bones last Thursday, 11/8. All safe and sound and a slick slick figure/AK icon sitting dead center in the stylish packaging.

I could keep going but need to respect the job I'm working at which allowed me to pay for so much of the 3A I do have. ("lunch break")
To have a company that sparks such creative light & inspiration from their offerings has been a huge joy for me personally. I've more to offer, perhaps when I get home, but have to say that I really appreciate reading a mature take from a vet perspective on where you/we find ourselves right now with 3A.

I'll continue to echo it though, this year's set is another home run shot for sure.

U.K. customs was 25£ - 13 for the tax and 12 service fee.

Service fee? Charging you for the privilege of having them hold or even open your stuff. Sometimes that totally takes the fun out of it but no charges for me here in Ireland, it can be hit/miss sometimes but yeah I'm totally loving Mort although I do think the original overcoat with the red lining looked much better.

Skipper11x.... that’s right, we have to pay Parcelforce for the privelidge of than paying the customs charges on our behalf. Welcome to rip off Britain. However I will add that I’ve only had to pay charges on one other parcel this year ;-)

The last 3 releases I received from threeA, Dutch Customs had changed its modus operandi and did the job quick and dirty.
No hold ups, processed in a day.

I got charged €24.85 for mort
€17.00 are clearance fees.
I have to confess that part hurts a bit.

If this is the new normal I am fine with it.

Ironically I suspect the charges that BPP & I have paid are on the shipping cost, rather than the package itself. Like I said, welcome to rip off Britain.
Another irony is that it probably would have arrived quicker as it wouldn’t have got held up in customs if it hadn’t been sent using EMS.

Mort landed in Los Angeles. Took him out and instantly loved it. It brings back a nostalgic feeling about 3A and took me back to 2009 when I first fell in love with this company and their unique approach to 1/6 scale figures. I wish 3A would go back to their unique IP figures and bring back the love, but that's not likely to happen as all the promises of more TK, WWR, and AK figs back in January didn't really come to fruition.
