They could also go with "The Future of 3A begins with Mort"

So if I'm reading this correctly; OG lines (WWR, Pop, AK, etc) will only be offered to 3AA. So on release days, bamba will essentially look empty to everyone else? Will there still be a 15% discount even though there is no longer a non-AA way to purchase the item?

Licensed products maintain the status quo so they will have regular & possibly 3AA exclusive versions (along with 3AA discount) ?

Card, Discount, and Figure included as always. All original lines/Ash created lines will only be available to 3AA members – includes WWR, Pop, AK, Gala Milk, Pascha, etc.

All licensed lines will be open to public. No 3AA variants for licensed figures, but there may still be Bambaland Editions.

Also all book releases will be open to public.

We are asking fans to make a commitment

For those that do not wish to, there are retail variants planned where and when it makes sense

Post by geisT on Tue Dec 19, 2017 6:20 pm

Wow, so if i didn`t have funds (and do not want Mort!) to buy Mort/Passport in January (fundswise the toughest month of the year by far...bills, bills, bills...) i CAN`T buy any WWR from Bamba the whole year???

"Congrats and good luck" with that bl3ackmail and f***ed up move!

edit: and the 15% discount for Ash creations makes absolutely no sense as there is no regular (non AA) price for these toys anymore... lol!

edit2: I will not be sound bitter, as there is soooo many golden old 3A stuff out there, that i would love get someday, but with
this strange move, finally after 10yrs, imho, 3A jumped the shark, and likely looses many long year supporters that will miss the deadline for
membership or just didn`t have the funds at this specific time...and i already hear the constant crying/angry emo about this, the whole next year when something cool drop only
for the privileged ones ! Suspect

on a positive note, Mort is a long desired and wanted figure and the edition sizes for each figure will be lower (no impulse purchases from us locked out ones anymore) and maybe the producing/shipping time shorter?

Anyway, i love the toys (+50) that i already have and there is always a way to find more if the toygods are with me...cheerio! cheers

So what is the difference between 3aa card and the passport? Are they not the same thing?

While I do agree with you Geist, I'm mainly into WWR but I like the Mort figure so I'm in. When the time comes that I don't like the pack I'll drop out.

Actually you just made a very good point! The 15% discount in null/void.

So in summary:

2017 = Not enough 3AA exclusives, people bitch, this is the end of ThreeA, Ash hates us all.

2018 = Almost everything is 3AA exclusive, people bitch, this is the end of ThreeA, Ash hates us all.

Same thing. 3AA Membership is your passport to gain entry into Bambaland.

Discount still applies, same concept as when something is currently 3AA exclusive. Regular price is announced, 3AA members will see the 15% discount on the sale page

If there's a variant that goes to retail then the SRP will be the announced price and 3AA members will have access to the discounted bamba version.

This is why we announced the plan a month in advance so people can understand how 3AA will work for 2018 and to prepare accordingly. We will be keeping membership enlistment open longer than 24hrs incase people need more time to gather funds. As of discussions last night we'll keep the membership open for a couple weeks – this may change.

Price has not been set yet as we are still getting quotes for everything included with the membership pack. I anticipate it will be above $220 simply due to the manufacturing costs on Les Mort

And a jump in price too???
You guys are doing your best to get rid of your fanbase not keep them. Strangest strategy I've ever seen. I'm hanging in there, trying to be positive but it's getting harder by the day.

Post by gregory on Wed Dec 20, 2017 6:26 am

The price jump isn't that crazy. Let's look at past 3AA set pricings –

2017's membership was $180 and it was fairly barebones because that's what people had been requesting – figure, card, discount
2016's membership was $180 Von de Plume and people complained that it had too much stuff and that it's just another NOM
2015's membership was $190 3AGO NOM Commanders and JJ McGee
2014's membership was $200 Lasstranaut

Average 1/6th scale figure price is now around the $200-$220 range, especially one that requires so many newly sculpted parts and tailored clothing. Plus the costs of packaging, bonus items included, and international shipping – it all adds up quickly.

Strangely I never heard anyone complaining about having to pay US$150 for a 3AA 2009 WWRp Bramble Mk2
That's US$172.50 in current dollars for a WWRp robot.
Which variants sold later that year for US$45 in retail.

Yay. Maybe I'll pre-order something from 3A this time around.

Reads next line:
Production Blog wrote:These releases will be offered only in the 3AA Members area of Bambaland and not offered anywhere else!

They're bringing back the good shit but they're locking it ALL behind the membership door? 3AA was that nifty 15% for those hardcore collectors and for those that thought they might become one. Everyone still had access to the non-3AA exclusives. Those that were 3AA had exclusive colorways or sets they could go after and they got a discount for them and the non-exclusive stuff. But 3A never shut out the casual or the new people that came into 3A. I'll admit it I'm a filthy casual. I could never afford to buy a good chunk of any years releases. However, those that caught my eye and that I had dough for ended up in my collection and I don't regret it (I haven't sold a single 3A piece I've ever gotten). Now though the "casuals" or the new people are going to have to run the ebay gambit, find that generous soul on a BST, or befriend a 3AA member. Hell, even the tentative (the wait and see group if you will) will have to do the same. Can't blame them after these past two maybe three years and with Ash's track record of broken promises.

This is great for the hardcore members (much respect for y'all) but it spits in the face of the "casuals" and even the new converts to 3A.

I got on a fun ride long ago that was open for all. The members got some cool privileges but it wasn't needed to ride. Now the ride is purely members only and kicking off those who aren't. It's done in the time when the ride is going back to it's roots as well. What a kick in the balls.

True words Solodice!

But collecting toys is always an unpredictable adventure, and as 3A decide to become an exclusive memberclub only (i am a filthy casual too, with a pretty small budget), i will start something new with just announced Blitzway/BHEAD customs "The day after WW3" Hunter Series, and just PO`ed  the first figure "the boy"  Shocked

The feeling of discovering this figure, was like the first time i saw Barguest...pure excitement, so personally, i`m okay with 3A`s decision to divorce with loyal but casual customers like me...time to move into something new and fresh and the adventure will go on!

No time or energy for negativity anymore ...have a great x-mas time folks! santa rendeer

Huh. This is a super weird move on 3A's part. I don't see how it'll be a successful move but I may be missing something.
I only get 1/12 2000AD these days but i've always loved Mort (had the old version but it wasn't great quality so I sold it in anticipation of Future Mort who was mentioned years ago) so I was planning on biting but these shenanigans are off-putting.
