Re: 3AA 2018 - FUTURE MORT 13!
So it's now pay up or be completely locked out for a year. It's a policy tailor-made for flippers. But then ThreeA always did cater to that group (or at the very least, did nothing to discourage them) - now they are just going all in. They are also forcing people to buy a figure which many have no interest in for the privilege. How about offering a reduced membership fee without the figure to still have access? It would literally be free money for ThreeA and they wouldn't have to produce as many figures. I realize this concept has been raised in previous years, but in previous years people could still buy the products - they just wouldn't get the discount. Now even that option is being erased. I truly don't understand how a company can treat its customers with such disregard and contempt.
Finally - anyone caring to know what gregory edited out of my earlier post is free to pm me so as to keep anything contrary to the rules private and off the main board. For the record, I don't believe what I posted violated any of the rules, but I understand that I don't get to decide what is or isn't acceptable.

This is how ThreeAA membership has always been. I have the 2016 and 2017 membership boxes still unopened with the yellow bands around them. I don't collect WWR and haven't felt the need to open them yet. I've only bought maybe one figure in the last two years also. I can't afford 4 packs of figures and there hasn't been much in the way of AK singles. Ash is going to do what he wants. We all know that and as much as it burns me at times, it is his business to do with as he pleases. I'm hoping there will be a couple figures I will want and can afford this year. I have already started to adjust my budget thanks to the heads up from Gregory. If any of you can't or don't want to join 3AA this year please feel free to PM me, and if a figure comes up you total need I will try to help you out. Happy holidays to all and best wishes in 2018. Jeff

You just did discuss Staff Action in public, by publicly questioning gregory's action.

Re: 3AA 2018 - FUTURE MORT 13!
Serious question here, are ThreeA trying to get rid of/phase out 3aa? That's kind of what it looks like to me.
Not trying to be a smart ass or anything. I'm leaning strongly on the side of re-enlisting, mainly because the Mort looks interesting BUT the potential price hike on everything is making me wary. TheeA is fast becoming an elitist rich boys club (maybe always has been) and a flipper friendly haven but I'm hanging in there for the moment anyway.

No, if Ash or Kim wanted to get rid of 3AA then they'd simply kill it off

It's actually quite the opposite. Flippers tend to pop up when they see hype. If they don't jump in in January, they are locked out for the rest of the year from buying stuff on a whim.

Re: 3AA 2018 - FUTURE MORT 13!
The flipper argument angle is pretty much moot at this point. Plus there's plenty of people on the boards and in the FB group that we'd all consider OG's or hardcore 3A/Ash fans that vocally decry flippers and are continually guilty of turning around to flip exclusives, or limited/stock figures, or prints, or gifted items – for whatever reason. The people that habitually take advantage, we're aware of, and have canceled accounts or denied sales to

Here's a question. I don't know if it's been brought up yet. Will there be limits on how much a 3AA member can buy of a single product? You know how 3AA members where supposedly limited to only buy one of each of the 3AA exclusives.

No limits unless otherwise stated. Limited Edition releases will be one per account as usual

This makes no sense at all. And if I want to buy one at the "regular price"? Oh, wait - I can't. How can there be a "regular price" when literally no one can buy it for that amount? There is no discount. There is only the 3AA price. Smoke and mirrors.

Hmmm, except if you want to buy a US$430 Transformer.
Always nice to be able to save about US$64.50 on the retail or standard Bamba price.

That's alright for the licenced stuff but if your here for the ThreeA only stuff then you're getting screwed. Also how are ThreeA supposed to get new fans when they can't actually buy stuff?

Re: 3AA 2018 - FUTURE MORT 13!
Let ThreeA worry about how we expand or retain our fanbase. The fans that decide to continue will continue and the fans that decide to move on, will move on. I'm confident that people that discover 3A after membership closes will find a way to purchase what they want. There are plenty of kind people in the community that have 3AA membership that plan to renew and are willing to help out others.
In regards to original 3A lines – if a TK has a Bamba variant and a Retail variant, the SRP determined by Kim and the hatchery doesn't change. It'll still be $200 and 3AA members will get 15% discount on that price plus free shipping. The Retail variant would retain the $200 SRP, and depending on the retailer, they might bump up the price or have additional shipping costs.

Interesting explanation Gregory, i/we assumed that WWR, TK etc would only be available to 3aa ONLY and no where else but if they're going to be either 3aa OR retail then that's different. A little explanation goes a long way

Re: 3AA 2018 - FUTURE MORT 13!
That's in the cases where there are retail variants. The 3AA Bamba variant will be exclusive to 3AA Members. The Retail variant or assortment will be exclusive to retailers.
For example say there's a WWR Bertie wave and in this wave Deep Powder, Iron Panda, and Dutch Merc are all 3AA Exclusive. Retailers would then get an assortment of Sand Crab, JEA, and EMGY. This only applies when it makes sense to have a retail assortment or variant. There will be plenty of releases that won't have a retail version.

Change is always met with varying responses. We have an intelligent group here and the different perspectives along with the respectfully expressed constructive criticism always seems to be welcomed. The cliche is forever in play, you're never going to please everyone.
My main concern was the 3AA "discount" ... when the only time there would be 3A offered outside of 3AA/Bamba is retail. That was and still kinda is a head scratcher for me. Almost like you could see the discount sort of nullified because the regular price would always be the price AFTER discount, right? Since there effectively is no other price if there is no other release of that figure? Anyhow,... no drama for me,...
I like the idea of a big change after 10yrs in the game. Reigniting the OG lines along with more original Ash figures... I'm game!

To clear up the "discount' confusion:
SRP for a figure is decided on the production end of things and is set based around many criteria behind the scenes (materials, molds, packaging, shipping, etc) and is based around if the figure were not offered at a 15% discount. 3AA members will still get 15% of SRP, precisely like in previous years when a 3AA got 15% off SRP of a standard release and also 15% off the SRP of a 3AA Exclusive variant. There is no difference to this logic. It is applying the same rules
I get that this causes an illusion to those who are not looking at all the data, but the only thing being cut out is the non-3AA member access to the figure at SRP; the equation is still the same as it always has been. If the discount was nullified, 3AA would be charged SRP.
