Just wondering if someone can tell me if the cylinder at the base of the calf that the ankle peg clips into is pvc or abs? And what glue is best to use on those type of plastics? Thanks.

What is your problem.
It's not PVC as far as I know. Are you gluing a peg into a foot/ankle ? I superglued a foot peg thinking I could stiffen up the peg since I had a floppy foot. I was moving it around hoping that it wouldn't set solid but it did. I didn't know any better at the time and will never do that again.

A piece broke off the ankle where the peg clips into it! Now the peg won't stay in.

Ah, I suggest to glue it with superglue then pick up Aves Apoxie Sculpt. If you have a Blicks art store they should have it for $18, online your looking around $25. There is a 1lb ver and a 1/4 (small) size ver, get the 1/4 if your not going to use more in the future.
Aves
After the glue is dry mix equal amounts of  A + B sculpt, less than a dimes worth. Need the putty until it's a uniform color, use a dowel to lay out a thin strip and wrap that around the ankle. Wait 24hrs to dry.
This will strengthen the ankle and hopefully when you put the peg back in it won't crack again.

This is what I would do. Someone else can chime in if they have a better idea.
Good luck.

If you lost the broken piece then recreate that piece with the Aves and let it dry hard. Then glue it to the ankle, let that glue dry then do the Aves strip like above for strength and it should be good.

Or, you could look for a left or right lower leg on ebay or on the facebook buy/trade page. You should be able to pop out the lower leg below the knee and replace it.

What figure are we talking about?
Replacement is usually the better option since we're talking about a high-pressure point that gets a lot of movement when posing the figure. But like UU mentioned, gluing and using some type of epoxy sculpt to strengthen the repair is the next best option especially if the joint will be covered by clothing so you don't see the repair. But I guess you could alway sculpt and paint the epoxy to minimize its visibility.

Thanks for the advise guys! Appreciate it! It's on a TK with short pants, so the ankle isn't covered! Is this part made from abs plastic! If so, what glue is best!

Haven't heard from Gregory for awhile but it would be great if he could confirm what that part of the ankle is made from! Just want to be sure I use the right type of glue!

Yeah, 99.9% sure it's ABS. I think your good with superglue. I would suggest to get the small gorilla glue gel bottle. It's thicker glue so it should hold better. To keep the outside of the ankle from crazing put some tape over the pieces. I still suggest to use the Aves Apoxie for double strength. You can always paint the ankle to blend it in.

If you google glue for ABS your told to use a PVC adhesive but I think it's overkill for such a small piece.

OK, I just searched on ebay for "threea 3a body" and a bunch of them popped up, under about $25. Depending on the body, choose the one you like and pop off the sheen below the knee and replace it with the broken one.

Yeah, personally I'd go with replacement with such a high pressure joint.

Here's an interesting video I found on bonding abs though:

I don't think this is the way to go if you can find a replacement part for cheap, but still an interesting video nevertheless.
