3A anniversary figure DIY Bambaboss is in production..but we can kill time creatively in thinking about how we will paint our Bambaboss. 3A board is famous for it's creative boardies, one of our boardies Manonegro decided to help us and done outstanding templates of the Bambaboss. So it's now much more easy to think and plan, how you will paint your Bambaboss. Please don't forget that there will be a gallery of all the Bambabosses send to 3A and Ashley Wood will pick up the bests of the bests!

Ashley Wood is back from his Tokyo journey, we will hear from him soon. Board is a bit lonely without him, isn't it?

Now couple of pictures from master Kenny Wong, on his collaboration with Jamungo/Treezero, doing his exclusive Squadt member, which would be shown at Taipei Toy Festival too. It's planned that there will be Squadt member designed by Ashley Wood too, at some point in future.

Something new from Jeremy Geddes blog, posting about HK show (known here as 3A super show) and probably about his upcoming figure in 3A lines, called "Cosmonaut" :
"I've just launched into a large painting for the HK show, so blog posts may slow down for a while, but here's a detail of one of the small cosmonaut pieces for the figure."

As you probably saw there were some changes in the board categories. The changes were done to make the board more readable, more conveniet for daily use and less cluttered:

Kenny Wong is now under showcase; there are now four sections in the Print Materials Section called: 3A Venture, Ashley Wood books and Comics, 3A Posters & Prints and Comics General. Toy request now should be done in the General toy section. Talent needed section is now under the Welcome to 3A.

All this changes are may sound to you horrible right now, as people always react stressful to the changes, it's our nature. But trust me, it's all for the good.

Ashley Wood speaking about 3A official magazine - Venture:
"venture for the time being is a deluxe catalogue come ongoing 3A show. BUT there is a folio from a boardie in the first issue, very extensive, not 2 pages etc. Venture is uber expensive to make, we will not break even, but its worth making, its cool, you will dig it, it will help spread our message !"

Unfortunately SnowPea (Sea Monkey pilot) will not be presented at the Taipei Toy Festival, but no worries, it will be there soon. Perfection takes time:

As promised earlier, month of July will see Wave one of WWRP and WWR 1/6th Armstrong offered for pre-order. More info and precise dates will be posted soon.

What we know so far about the Venture? It's an official 3A magazine, it's going to be full of super colorful photos, like a deluxe catalog. Release - July/August. Ashley Wood about the Venture, release and subscriptions for the magazine:

Just a quick reminder, as always for the past six month, two contests started on our board: Sketch contest and Photo contest. I strongly advice you to participate in them, really.
So, July sketch contest , with the theme -War-. July photo contest with the open theme, as always. And again, I strongly advice you to pull everything you got and participate in this two.

If anybody has missed the info about Ashley Wood and Kenny Wong collaboration on the Sea Monkey. Kenny is doing the suit (Sea Monkey) and Ashley Wood is doing the female pilot figure, called Snow Pea. And in case you don't know, 3A pricing is very reasonable and affordable. 3A is here not to make money, but to make great figures for the people to be happy.

If you have ordered three Large Martins and received only two, please give it a couple of days, for one to reach you. And if it's not happening than email 3A ( info@threeaonline.com ), write your order number and the problem and they will try to do their best to help you.

In the first wave of Large Martins we see on the board, there are a lot of chases and only a few Big Red variants. Here is Ashley Wood speaking about it and about LM in general:
"big red is the new chase Smiley
but really, the chase correspond to the orders amount, percentage wise etc.. as the distro points pick and choose from the LM pools for delivery, I can only think the chase edition were ganged together etc..."
"there are way more big reds than chase figs, it might seem odd now.. Big red and Iron Panda are the most common.. common for 3A, rare for any other company that makes this sorta shit.."

As you probably now 3A will offer for sale WWRP (1/12th scale) first  wave this month, which consists out of five Brambles. So apparently it comes on sale next week and then we will see further development of the WWRP line in the second wave. Maybe there we will see even Bertie MK2! As for the packaging they come in the same size box, so I guess, no separate packaging for the set of five 1/12th scale Brambles..And for your information, Medic Bramble will be numbered with a 0043 number as the Medic Square from WWR line.

Large Martins are starting to arrive all over the USA right now. Currently there a lot of chases (NW and DW LM) right in the first arrivals. So cool to see all them, click here for the lovely photos and don't forget to post yours.

Large Martin is the successor to BOB, a moderately successful stop-gap artillery robot from the Rothchild. Large Martin was initially released with single cannon configuration, later models were fitted with twin cannons and became know as Damn Large Martin.

Large Martin was developed by Rothchild as a more effective way of handling large Bramble MK2 platoons which were proving to be quite unstoppable on the battlefield. A Large Martin herd (LMH, 8-12 Large Martin) can effectively lay waste to the opposition from a tactical distance and has become the standard for "softening" the opponents' position before sending in Dropcloth gunners to handle the survivors.

Large Martin does not have teh land speed of Bramble Mk2 or Bertie Mk2, but coupled with the standard Square2 accompaniment running support and retrieving field data in advance makes Large Martin a very formidable robot to face.

So apparently it's a chase or prize in the contests...you can't buy him, but you paint him....Hmmmm. That's very breathtaking and interesting.

So again, to summarize what we know about WWRP first wave. 120$ for set of three, five designs over two different packs. DIY Bramble, for six pack, which includes all five designs + DIY and is going to be limited and 220$ shipped. Retailers will have the singles, there will be no singles at bambaland. There will be gallery for DIY Bramble on the 3A website, so start thinking about your paintjob for DIY Bramby.

Huge news about 3A! There is going to be a collaboration with coarsetoys! Coming to us in 2010. Coarsetoys is famous for making outstanding designers toys in a very quality packaging. So when two great companies unite their powers....the results are going to be wicked and kicking ass!

"Wow, Thursday could be perhaps the busiest day at SDCC ever and ever is a long time if you consider that we first attended in 1995! SDCC just gets bigger and better every year and this year is no exception, early morning line ups of attendees numbered in the thousands.

People always talk about the fandom and the big glitzy announcements when they talk about SDCC, after all it is the biggest pop culture event of the year, bar none! But those of us who've been doing this for awhile also realize that SDCC is also about much, much more. It's a mass gathering of friends, people who get to meet up with old friends face to face but once a year and people who are there to meet new friends, some just made over the internet the year before. It's a come one and come all event, just there to celebrate that which makes us happy and nothing more.

Ash had an impromptu signing just before lunch at the IDW booth and really enjoyed meeting lots of 3A members, many of whom we knew by their online handles only until today. Also he's had a chance to catch up with many old and treasured friends some who have travelled from as far away as Europe (and like us from Australia) and beyond.

We'll try and post some more photos tomorrow, today was particularly busy and so we've had no time to upload. If any signings come up, the schedule is floating this year, we'll post the information here. Stay Tuned. "

To illuminate the confusion considering this post. Bramble - is Ashley Wood's wife and she expresses how she feels like about certain things happening around Ashley and 3A. I don't advice you to dig deeper or build up any conspiracy theories about that. It's all said there, take it or leave it.

Our boardies saw Squares during the SDCC (Ashley Wood showed it to them) and they said, that the articulation is really out there and craftsmanship is on the premium level!

Ashley Wood is back from the SDCC! Be prepared for the major wave of news.

Ashley about SDCC and meeting the fans:
"it was cool to catch up with boardies , all sporting there legion shirts, very cool !!!
It was a good con, very tiring but great things will come of it !

Ashley about Lunar Security Armstrong, who was estimated scheduled for July release:

So maybe it's still this month release. The release day could be shifted to August, because of the Ashley's and Kim's trip to the SDCC.

Ashley Wood about AVA (female body from the 3A) at SDCC, the release time of AVA and about updating current male bodies of 3A figures:
"ha, we had it, actually it was out a lot, but no 3A people were around when we had out ! no matter, sooner than later you can get you own ! "

Ashley Wood giving us a small lecture about Berties eyes and how they see things:
"they are sensor arrays, just different parts, its not an eye, they dont see per-se, they are painted different colors in the field to give a look of an eye so the humes have more empathy towards them.
the markings are not burns, but dirt and rust and weathering due to extreme conditions they work under
Toms logo was based on bertie artwork , bertie was around years before Tom designed a logo for WWR.

Now we know more about WWR.

Ashley Wood commenting on Lady Sham and stating that Lady Sham is going to be first woman figure by 3A. I always thought, that first are going to be Tomorrow Queens, because my Tomorrow Kings need some company badly. But Lady Sham is such an awesome character, no wonder, she will be first.
"Lady Sham is always sporting a white vinyl cat-suit of sorts, and yes there will be bots for to ride down the line. Lady Sham is going to be the first Female fig we release !"

I got asked today if the wonderful WWRP Brambles (who are still on sale at www.bambalandstore.com ) will come with the decals. Of course they will, don't even worry about it. And please keep in mind that final 3A product, is hundred times better than the prototype or production photos.
