Re: Rothchild Field Mechanic
They turned out awesome. Had Angus on pre-order, but cancelled a long while back out of necessity. Now I have to hunt one down.
Re: Rothchild Field Mechanic
I want that Rothchild Mechanics Birdcage to go with these guys, the digital camo would look great with Paul.

I probably wrote something else then I meant to say.
Still want that Digital Camo Birdcage that's flashing by on the Bambalandstore.com home screen
Back on topic: Saw some cool pics by Fai Cheng on FB, of Ross doing his thing here

Re: Rothchild Field Mechanic
the pants on the mechanics are pretty cool at least judging by the inhand snow mechanic pic i saw
how is the QC? any floppy bod probs? just curious, no desire to ever own one.

Re: Rothchild Field Mechanic
i never cared for the mechanics during sale, but these pics of Angus courtesy of IG user @hoteggs3 make me want to hunt one down.
The other mechanics are more "meh" IMO, though retail one looks cool thanks to his body paint.

Re: Rothchild Field Mechanic
I got Angus just so i can pose him with my Harry the fucktard. I mean it's kinda fitting to have a mechanic with the most glitchy bot ever made.
Also I got a tracking number last week but it doesn't seem to work when I try and track it. What's up with that??

Love the extra tools, 3a should have included them then I would have bought one. Kinda wished I did buy one but funds were tight at the time as well, had to be selective but if the tools had been included that would have swung it 3a's way.

Re: Rothchild Field Mechanic
I just realized something, seeing all these awesome pics.
Design wise, the mechanics seem bland to me. Just a guy with a toolbox.
But when you see them alongside these huge robots, fixing them, interacting with them, a new element of emotional connection appears, similar to Han and the Falcon, an actual relationship between man and machine... and you can't help but like these guys...
Had i seen pics like these during the sale, i would have bought one. Yet again, Legion pics surpass by far the official studio pics of 3A.
Ash, Brent, and all 3A staff, please take notice

I don't know. I think Legion pictures should surpass the official ones. Ask yourself, do we want 3A to be a picture making company or one that focuses on toys. But I do get what you mean, pez.

Re: Rothchild Field Mechanic
Yeah and maybe that's the point, to let the Legion go wild with their imaginations and their own art, Ash always says what a thrill it is seeing Legion pics fleshing out the stories in our own unique ways.
But i just realized, for such an avant garde / punk philosophy that 3A has, their product shots are pretty boring standard stuff.
I remember 10+ years ago, the company most similar to 3A was McFarlane Toys, and their product shots were AMAZING. Dioramas, various lighting and settings, character interactions, etc.
Again, not a big deal, and i should excercise more my own imagination when deciding to buy something or not... but it's happened so many times that i pass on a figure only to want it badly when i see the amazing Legion in hand pics.

Have to agree. I've always thought of the 'official' product photos as similar to the Lego advertisements below in that 3A offers an incredible product but it truly comes alive only when it is in the hands of the person playing with it. It's always cool to see more fully fleshed out production scenes for toys but I've always felt it can subconsciously influence how we view, display, and/or photograph it once in-hand.
I like and appreciate the official pics for their elegant simplicity but the photos by collectors are amazing.
Re: Rothchild Field Mechanic
Those LEGO ads are genius, Dar Wolfram! thanks for sharing!
i'll have to excercise my imagination some more next time there's a sale and i'm on the fence. One thing is good, though... lately, with the exception of Mighties, the final products have come out exactly as the proto...
Zomb MD & Nurses, Nabler Guys, Nabler heads, Heavy Slicers, 3AGO... which is great when you have spent long hours on the fence and finally went for it based on the proto pic (among other variables, but the pic is a huge part of the sell).
I really like how Angus came out and it's amazing how they're all the same sculpt but a change in colors gives them each a unique air.
Snow mechanic seems (adequately so) cold, detached, analytical.
Black haired green clothed mechanic seems no-nonsense, hands on, efficient.
Angus (only one who's name i remember) seems brash, cocky, good-humored.

Still waiting on my Angus. Got tracking 2weeks ago. The number is useless. I can't track the damn thing.

Re: Rothchild Field Mechanic
Tempted to buy a retail still, however the lack of tools in the toolbox is just shameful. I love the Retail version, but the lack of pieces make this a bit of a wash. Still on the fence for these, but love seeing all of the pics legion has to offer. Keep it up gang!

Such a grower figure with a super charmin face, like a slighly pervert bot doc...
(beside all rantomatic, i still would buy 80% of 3A drops but, i need to employ a lottery fairy, hex or that nabler couple... )
Money = the natural enemy of 3Art...or the lack o...sigh...
nah,super cool (super rare!) "Klempner"!!
