Still have him along with the desert one. May have to give the desert one up at some point to make space, but I'm keeping the iron panda forever

Iron Panda is my favourite Large Martin as well.
One of the best executed threeA robots I think.
Quick dirty pic I did of my Iron Pandas with some friends.
The CLAXTON80 DDv2 #2 is holding is borrowed from the MiM JEA Marines 1G Armstrong.

That looks like JEA Martin
As exited as I am about the idea of new Iron Panda bots being released (in any scale), I have to admit, I agree with Noir... What made the original Iron Panda bots so unique, is gone...
(note: these are all WWRp, 1/12 scale)
One of the most defining design aspects of the original Iron Panda is the strong contrast of the decals. Lots of black with white accents. On this new bot, the base colour seems to be light grey and even the trademark "Dead Eyes Open" is inverted... Now the overall appearance is somewhere between Jea and Frosty Choad.
Re: WWR superset
This makes me worry abt the superset (if there is one). This colour scheme apparently doest match with the old one.zzzzz wrote:Noir wrote:What are they doing on the Panda??

I knew Ash would make changes, but wasn't expecting this... anyway, this has nothing to do with the superset:

I'm disappointed, I love Panda but the 9 was such a great chance to get us some really obscure colorways.

Urggggggg, still need that Iron Panda Super set> Been waiting years for that beast, hopefully the colors will stay true to the old scheme, dark vs light and killer graphics for the win!

Re: WWR superset
Next Thursday, Nov 24th 2016, marks the 3rd anniversary of the idea of the Iron Panda Superset!
Ash on Q&A #10 24.11.2013
and the most recent official mention of the set is already year and 8 months old:
gregory on 20.03.2015
...wonder if any of the samples got ever made?

Good ol Panda, one of the classic Corps, I think a set would be cool, does anyone want that ?

It'll happen, its a matter of getting an open window with the factory and getting the samples together which can seriously take crazy amounts of time
...wonder if any of the samples got ever made?

hopefully will still happen....

Gotta keep hope alive on that one, been re-newing 3AA each year for just such an event, though the nom commander anniversary was totally worth it

Ash on Q&A 23.04.2014June for the [IP] sale I believe, WF is the other one!
3A Blog on 13.11.20145th week (31st Dec) - WWR Set
What will Iron Panda Superset cost?
$300 Bramble (2015.02.15)
$35 Square (2009.05.25)
$240 1G Armstrong (2011.07.14)
$50 Square MK2 (2011.06.09)
$120 Grunt (2011.02.16) Note! Grunt 1.5 (/2.0) could be more expensive.
= $745
The first (semi) official release date for the IP Superset was for June 2014. Then the next release date was set for 31st of December that same year.
Since then the prices have gone up. The rise of shipping costs, as I've understood, have especially made 3A toys more expensive. I made my calculations back in 2015 of how much the combined cost of the set could be, and initially I even added a "super-set discount" (see on the first page), based on previous large sets. But as manufacturing/shipping costs have risen, I guess there's no way the set could be cheaper than the combined $745. (as comparison TK Hunter cost $588.00)
For US customers that is not either good or bad news, but for us Europeans... this hobby is starting to get insanely expensive:
$745 for a european collector:
Back in June 2014 = €543.85
31st December of the same year = €610.90
Today (January 5th 2017) = €707.75 (that's €163.90 more than in June 2014)
I personally wouldn't mind if these were released separately in DD Bertie style. Actually I would be super-happy even with just the Bramble! After all this wait, is that too much to ask?
Re: WWR superset
Gotta bring the WWR Super Set back to the frontlines. It will be a sad day if if we don't get to see a killer IRON PANDA unit in 2018!

Even if they released it now imagine how much it would cost? The golden age of ThreeA is gone but I'm glad I was there for part of it.
