Still saving, I'm gonna be cutting it close myself. I wonder how sales are doing, anywhere near 400? I know it's quiet here but that isn't an indication any more.

Re: F5 10th Anniversary DP Bramble Mk2 R1!
I still have my OG DP Bramble with gatling gun, so no need for this one. But good memories--it was my first 3A purchase!
I honestly remember that night sitting in my room at my college house. It was released on the evening of the last day of the month, so I waited until after midnight to pull the trigger so it would show up on the next month's credit card bill! I was naively thinking "Ok this super expensive robot will be a one-time thing, just this one." Bwahahaha...right.
Can't believe it was 10+ years ago!

My first 3A purchase as well! Tried for those slippery Nom and Noir de Plumes, but they dropped when I was at work and were (obviously) sold out by the time I got to a computer. I still have my OG DP Bramble with gatling gun as well, but that makes me want this one more to go with him.

It took me a while to find an OG DP...but a chance to own another bot with this particular colorway is something I can't pass up.

Re: F5 10th Anniversary DP Bramble Mk2 R1!
Yup, especially since I have the original makes this one extra interesting.
When threeA released Bertie MK3 I ordered Deep Powder Mk3B, Zwarte Torens MK3A and JEA Marine MK3A.
I never thought I would regret passing on Deep Powder Mk3A.
Luckily I was able to find one for a pretty reasonable price on the secondary market.
When in doubt, just get it.
If you like one, high chance you like the other as well and this proved it self time and time again.
It doesn't make the one you already have or opted for first less special. It mostly empowers.
Or, as Gibby Haynes once said:
"The funny thing about regret is that it's better to regret something you have done than to Regret something that you haven't done."
Still, I have a pretty long list of regrets.

Have a feeling it'll be similar to the Warbot sale with a lot of last minute buy ins

Can personally vouch for last-minute buy-ins.

I subscribe to this theory as well, and the Bertie Mk3's is a great example of this. I got the Deep Powder Mk3 Mode A + B, and Sand Devil Mk3 Mode B, but had to pass on the Mk3 Mode A because I simply didn't have the funds to get all four. I still have yet to find a Sand Devil Mode A. ;__;
I know some people get excited about new colour variants, but I am soooo into the squad building (RIP Desert Rat, Iron Panda and Deimos Liberator). I love putting together big squads of the various bot sizes and shapes all grouped together with their 12" human counterparts. Ahh that just gets me more hyped about the rest of the Dirty Deeds... and I am sure I am going to regret not getting like 6 DD Tracky Squares.

Squad building is great.
Even if it is just a part of it, or colors don't completely match.

Really want all 12. Can't wait to see the next incarnation.ennui wrote:[Snip]

Such a small community, such a small squad. I really don't get why ThreeA didnt standardise their colours.

Re: F5 10th Anniversary DP Bramble Mk2 R1!
I think Threea is still a young company relatively speaking. I mean in the early years I'm sure they were experimenting and learning with paints and colorways, techniques, etc. And their paint jobs aren't exactly like a car paint job where you can get exact mix ratios and bada-bing you have your colorway. Threea uses sponging and drip techniques for weathering that could affect the way a paint job looks. Also they don't have their original paint master doing the work. I don't know. What do you think? Am I just spewing a whole load of ca-ca? Lol.

Re: F5 10th Anniversary DP Bramble Mk2 R1!
Not a complaint, just observation. The Deep Powder has changed a lot, not just the techniques but the actual overall look. The Harold, Dropcloth, Caesar could be a different squad altogether. Some of the DPs are closer to Desert, they go from rusty brown to white, it's really noticeable when you see some of Gars pics (very nice collection by the way). Then you have the MOD Chip which goes from rusty orange Martin to purple Armstrong. While others like Deeds, NW and Gravedigger are pretty close to each other. Bromwich and Peaceday are almost the same. Desert, EMGy and JEA haven't changed a lot over the years. My collection is all over the place colour wise so I can chop and change. As I said just observations, I guess in wartime colours change/evolve.

Re: F5 10th Anniversary DP Bramble Mk2 R1!
Only 2 Deep Powders stand out for me...
Deep Powder Grunt Private Dunn is a bit too muddy to my taste (same with the N.O.M. Blanc Commanders).
And Harold, which could have been a lot better if the hard blue accents were teal or light blue. Or maybe no glossy finish would have helped.
Deep Powder Corp Mighty Square on the other hand looks a lot better than the pretty bland prototype design, I almost hadn't purchased it.
While cleaning up the attic a couple of classic Deep Powder Bramble MK2 box pics.
(Forgot to remove the sleeve to show the inside)

Same!! So much!! They will have their own table dedicated to them.

I think that's part of the idea behind it. Obviously, I cannot speak on Ash's behalf, but in my recollection and observations Ash's story was evolving as he was designing figures; a fluid world-building. Some of us are stuck in one theme because we are thinking of it as one moment in time, painting one picture in our head, but Ash's perspective is not limited or restricted by time. I personally love the Desert Rat colourway, and it took me a bit to adjust to the Sand Devil variation on the desert them. Of course, I dig them both for their own merits, but I was real attached at first and had to learn early on to let go of my own expectations.

I dig the Grunt (imo he should be dirtier since he's on the frontlines), but I agree completely with your point regarding the NOM Blanc Commanders and Harold.

Ha yes>
I aim a bit lower; Deep Powder Bertie Mk2 is on top of my wishlist.
(besides Dutch Merc. Those two and than a while nothing. Accumulating about 300 other threeA releases during the wait)

Re: F5 10th Anniversary DP Bramble Mk2 R1!
Well, I paid for this DP Bramble finally. I also forgot how big these bots are, my GD Bram is tucked away in the back of my display case, sucker is fat. That rocket launcher though is what made this thing so cumbersome.
There was a time when this colorway would of been much more exciting to me, I would of really liked a DIY variation of this. Also need a DIY weapons pack, that should be cheaper to produce.
