Re: SAN DIEGO COMIC-CON INTERNATIONAL 2016
No thread for SDCC 2016 yet? Kooky.
I just did a quick Google to check on the show dates for this year, and when the results popped up, this site did.
http://www.vividseats.com/theatre/comiccon-tickets/comiccon-7-21-1868146.html
How's that even possible? I thought the tickets were tied to names/badges etc. Have they always allowed ticket scalping sites to participate by selling them blocks of passes? Double kooky.

In the old days, you had to show up on the first day with your ID and you could get all your passes. Then, all you had to do was walk outside and hand them to the person who bought them from you. They never checked ID after you received them on that first day, though they threatened that they could (i.e. if someone was eagle eyed enough to notice you were a dude wearing a Beatrice Hamper badge). However, this year, they are sending the badges through the mail. They are supposedly chipped, but what does that mean? No fakes? So, unless they have a way to ID check you at some point, I'm guessing they inadvertently inflated the scalper market this year.

Re: SAN DIEGO COMIC-CON INTERNATIONAL 2016
Ha,.. funny to read my post from last year a page back,....
I don't think I ever had pics put up & I definitely have slacked on the endurance training. We have Thurs-Sun passes this year so maybe I'll run into fellow Legion heads. I still doubt I'll be able to hang into the late night since we usually start around 5am...
But yeah, someone start a 2016 thread.
And for he RFID badges this year,... word is they'll be scanning you upon entry AND exit. If you don't get scanned at exit then you'll have to go through this re-entry process where IDs are checked, etc.
They've said this process was in play at Wondercon but I have no idea.
Whatever, it's always the few that ruin it or make it more cumbersome for everyone else. It will be something different again next year I'm sure.

can keep using this thread, edited the title and quoted all the 2015 info for archival purposes.
2016 news soon, gonna be a different kind of booth than SDCC people who have attended before are used to.

^LOL, I just made and then deleted the new thread after seeing your post.
Hmmm, not sure if good or bad. Any word on if there will be a Bamba preorder for pick up?
I'll be there all days staying at The Omni.

Yeah, great, I didn't want to have to do all that work with creating a new thread... ;-p
Hmmm,..... so a different kind of booth eh? I thought it definitely had a change to it last year, from the previous few years. Very interesting Doctor Jones, very interesting.
Bamba pre-order for pick-up would be sweeeeeeeeet!

Yeah, can we please have preorder. Or could some of us boardies get preferential treatment
I was able to move to the front of the line last year with my 3AA card, but I couldn't afford it this year.

Anyone else picturing a big jello wrestling ring with giant 3A! logo above it, on fire, ... a pile of exclusives in the middle of the ring and Gregory in a referee outfit with a whistle who will yell "Let's get it on" at 10am when the booth opens for exclusives?? That would be different.
Is that kind of what you meant Gregory?

Re: SAN DIEGO COMIC-CON INTERNATIONAL 2016
I want an obstacle course, like a 3A Ninja Warrior style competition for exclusives. Â Losers die in a moat filled with electric eels while winners limp away with the spoils. Â I've been training for something just like this.

Re: SAN DIEGO COMIC-CON INTERNATIONAL 2016
ThreeA should pull the ultimate troll maneuver and give "first dibs" to any customer that can present one of those NOM Operative Cards that came with the original Commander set. That would be kind of great, in a dick way.

Re: SAN DIEGO COMIC-CON INTERNATIONAL 2016
I'd say you bring invoices of all your purchases since you began collecting 3A and show them how much you've spent over the years. Â That should give you dibs. Â
I do like the wrestling ring idea. Â But instead of jello have mud you know 'cause of 3A's affinity for weathering. Â And have ladies dressed in 3Akinis. Â One lady in red with a gasmask logo the other in blue with an A logo. Â This would certainly get folks watching not just 3A fans but others as well. Â And you could also get guys to wrestle just to balance out the entertainment.

Re: SAN DIEGO COMIC-CON INTERNATIONAL 2016
Very happy to hear that pre-order piece. Its always welcome to have less chaos at the booth if possible.
Now we just need to hear what kind of pleasure dome that Gregory has planned for this year's "different" kind of booth.

Re: SAN DIEGO COMIC-CON INTERNATIONAL 2016
I'm planning on arriving Friday eve, then leaving Saturday eve. No plans to get anything at the con, just hanging with cool peeps and crossing fingers for more networking (plus checking out this 3A booth! ). If anyone can let me bunk for a night, let me know. Otherwise, i'll just sleep in my car.
