Sale ends tomorrow morning according to Ash

When I first started collection I learned most I could on the ThreeA Wikipedia page to understand the stories. Then I poured through Ashley Woods QandA wich is archived on this blog. If you go with popbot and have the funds try to find Big Beautiful Book be be ready to drop coin. The book covers a lot about the popbot world and little on tks. Get a better understanding of how that world is a little crazy-Big Picture. You actually started collecting when many people are retiring from 3A for several reasons so you probably could snag the 7 Bones crew from a member Dailey cheep

Relieved to wake this morning to see that there were no surprises while I slept.  Made me feel better about picking up the one I could afford.

Had to smile at ThreeA's optimism that it'll ship this year.  I want some of what they're smoking.

It's not over until its over. if there was a surprise drop it would be up for only a minute and if you landed it... well you would be lucky. Otherwise just happy with what I did land.

and then I stopped collecting 3A.

Do you think its awareness to the blog and F5. when I stumbled on this group made a profile and started posting it took a bit of time. Wonder if F5 bar is missing many other Facebook members or if all aspects of social media have diminished the conversations to be heard. It would be cool if 3A announced a bar on the Newsletter. Awareness is needed!.

It may be awareness for new folks to be introduced to 3A, but as has been mentioned a large chunk of early vocal collectors have retired from collecting or moved on to other avenues of social media.  Those that have moved on to other avenues of social media have done so because they feel more free to converse without the limitations that a forum like this one dedicated to the company might set either explicitly or implicitly.   In other words, the folks that have moved on to other avenues are able to talk shit or whine and complain without the fear of being banned or persecuted, etc.

 Interacting on this forum should be like interacting in a person's home that you've been invited to.  You wouldn't disrespect your host without the obvious consequence of being thrown out of your host's home, right? So some folks have moved on to facebook or even other smaller forums that help them connect more closely to their own country's collectors to be able to converse more freely so to speak.

The old forum (the one before this board) that was actually hosted by 3A had way more traffic than this one gets even on a good day. I believe most of the forum goers were lost during that last transition. Some saw it as 3A not caring about fan support, dropping the ball in a way...

ThreeA has always had a publicity problem, namely not advertising themselves at all really. I see more ads for 3rd party sellers of 3A products than 1st part ones. Facebook can only take you so far, and if you haven't already found 3A, it won't do much to hook the uninitiated. They need real web ads like some other companies like Hasbro or Bandai have out there. Go out to any figure forum and you'll see ads for all kinds of companies big and small. If ThreeA would just announce and advertise major sales a month ahead of time instead of this spur of the moment bullshit they would double their sales at the least.

Wow, my order was placed at 10 am HK time. Another minute and I would have missed it. Crazy.

Anyway, in truth I accidentally placed three orders between 9:58-10:00 AM because my browser kept freezing up before reaching PayPal for payment, which I managed to get to on the third attempt. The two unpaid orders seemingly can't be canceled because they've reached the "final phases of processing". I've sent a message to 3A and hopefully all will be sorted.

Unless you've gone through Paypal and paid for the orders, the orders won't be valid. So no real need to cancel.

I'm not on FB, so maybe that's where the action is, but it used to be that a TK drop would bring people from the depths of time to the board...

Folks are probably TK'd out or 3A'd out.

ChiliKeys, your 2 remaining unpaid orders will be deleted by 3A soon if they don't get paid!! Just wait and they will disappear...

It's not just this forum, but all forums have had drastic drops in traffic. Like other's have said, it's because people use other social media instead due to the convenience. The problem is people don't actually converse about something. It's just a "like" or [emoji] and that's their contribution to the conversation. There's also no rules on social media. So in a FB group for instance, you'll get 3 people all post basically the same thing when there's a new blog post or a cool teaser. Then you wind up with multiple conversations about the same thing. Everyone wants to be the person who "broke the news". And in the end, these posts just get buried with no easy way to go back and re-read what other's have talked about after 24 hours. These types of people don't like forums because there's 1 thread and they don't get to break the news to everyone. As you can see, I can't stand this exodus to social media.

Most people are dumb and lazy. They don't understand the wealth of information that can exist in a forum. God forbid they use the search function and plug in a keyword before starting a new thread and asking something that there's an easy answer to.

On the flip side, most forums are not mobile friendly. If they were, I think you'd see more people utilizing them just the same as social media

I read one study which concluded that kids/youngsters these days are writing significantly less than previous generations, because they use emojis

All this doom and gloom about communication reminded me, aren't we still due for some TK comics and such? I think I remember Brizl (I probably misspelled that) from the old forums was involved in some of that. Does anyone have a clue to what the status of it is? Would be great to get some new TK fiction since Ash is pretty quiet on backstories and such.

Hey Gimbat, can you confirm if we'll see any decals on the Master 5 Loper? Like the flesh is fuk'd and wire pattern decals on the Classics Oyaloper's arms!!
