Just picked up my Hemingway. Totally great yet weirdly 'off' toy! Just don't see the design logic behind the filthy pants & spotless shirt. I guess it's some 'next level shit' that's beyond me.

It's gotten to be pretty common for me.

A few examples:

A personal esthetic thing like not liking (mostly with TKs) the shoes - Nage, KDA - or the headsculpts - Kozo, Ninja, Shosuke - and replacing them.

Actual problems, like paint that becomes sticky over time - RVHK TK gloves, Baka hair, Oyaloper shoes - and needs to be removed and repainted. Or it's having to clean a bit of the clothing's weathering so it doesn't continually leave residue on my hands. Or... the dreaded loose joints - Bromwick Heavy Bramble shoulders - which need to be righted.

So, I tweak them by necessity or to my liking.

As far as Hemingway's shirt. I don't think it's a mistake. The photo on the packaging has a clean shirt. So it seems it's meant to be this way. It just looks/feels weird with crazy dirty pants and a super clean shirt. Again it's just a personal esthetic thing. Love it as is, or tweak it. It's all good toy fun. And a cool figure.

It was dirty In promos. Made more sense. Guess it got changed before box photos got shot. Strange, but no stranger than other things.

Picked up a standard Hemingway in Tokyo this week - looks good except for the pants on back to front. This must have been a factory error as the shoes are on nice and tight. Furthermore one of the canisters on the gun arm is loose and falling off. As far as the shirt is concerned I like the clean white against the distressed camo; however the cut does feel rather long, well below the waist.
