Re: MIGHTY SQUARE
Maybe the community has moved to Facebook and IG?
Deep Powder turned out better than the proto, except for that giant snowflake on the face... Seriously, Ash's fetish this time around is markings over an eye

I like the eye paintings on Bromi, Deepi and Gravey...
Yeah, it seems after the old forum left (it was second time that the 3A forum closed? right?) many members left too...
But on the other side, posting toy pics on IG or FB is more showing the toys to friends and the "world" , or people that are normally not into collecting "indie toys" like 3A....so i think its a good promotion for 3A and Ash!
As long as the forum stays as the homebase and people keep posting own pics or links, its cool...

That may be true. But as a global phenomena, social media causes a stronger clumping of "private clubs", you have to know someone already to be a part of the group. One thing I love about forums is how so many people from such diverse backgrounds come together organically and interact with each other. I find forums are a better way to make new friends, whereas social media is only good at staying on contact with friends you already have. Just IMO.

Re: MIGHTY SQUARE
Agreed with soulburn3d.
Social media = news, updates, very good for BST, etc. See what's new and move on.
Forums = disussion and sharing and fun at a more complex level.
Somehow the deeper connection that 3A traditionally had with its community feels now (i won't say severed, but) lessened in some way. Like they can't, or don't want to, deal with this kind of "relationship" anymore. Which is okay because things change, evolve, and 3A is growing.
I'll share more of my thoughts about it on the relevant threads. Back on Mighty topic, i like all the "eye decals" so far, except Deep Powder... that one is waaaay too big.
The weathering is beautiful, though. Always love exposed metal on my snow bots

Is there a thread for general chit chat about things like this? Because it really is a shame that people are only on social media and hide behind the veil of their toys. It's kind of creepy actually. I don't add collectors on my FB because I don't need strangers peeking on my personal life. Especially if all they do is post toy pictures. And that's why I like the forums for that

Re: MIGHTY SQUARE
I'm with you Pezbana, at one time it was like we were here with Ash, offering suggestions and all round chit chat but lately (for the past year or two) not so. It now feels like 3a is a big global corporation and no need for us plebs. I mean sometimes it feels like there are just a handful of us passing info back and forth. Ash is leaving us munchkins behind and becoming the Great and powerful OZ! If he hasn't already done that already.

Re: MIGHTY SQUARE
Judging by the amount of pictures online, the most purchased Mighties might be:
* Dirty Deeds
* Medic
* JEA
* Sand Devil
Those last 2 are debatable, but DD certainly seems to be the one most people got!

Also, I asked CS if I could trade my vintage for one of the colorways they have left and they said no. That's too bad. I wonder if they changed it for branding issues. Especially since threezero is growing bigger as well.

Re: MIGHTY SQUARE
I really like how some of these turned out. I still can't help but think that we might see the sinking ball joint thing happen in a few months. Dang..i really want one now..but still hesitant.

Re: MIGHTY SQUARE
Yeah, it should be interesting to see if these end up with the sinking or warping problems of the original Mighties. Judging from some of the pics it looks like the tops have some variation to them, which would suggest they're from the same mold as the old ones. Although it is possible that the undersides could have been thickened to at least solve some of the major sinking issues.
