Thanks guys, funny thing is, I thought I would try to scratch and peel some scabs to give it that extra worn look.Matrix wrote:nice Artoo... don't scratch
Very excited to how it turned out that I've even thought of doing more in a pattern around my arm based on some of the other designs. Can't just stop at one!

Good for some aspects in the future thpugh. That Heavy Bramble Rocket launcher is nearly impossible to pose with on both my HBs since their joints give out beneath the weight.

Re: Bertie MK2
that Why I liked so much the Bramble 1|12 the rocket was heavy enougth to feel solid, but no so the figure cannot stand it,
I have 2 with the biggast rocket and RPG and after 2 years they never loosed grip. The HEavy Vinyl problem is more a Big 1|6 bot problem I think. That why people loved so much WWRp.

Re: Bertie MK2
Well I think, 1|6 and 1|12 are still vinyl (bot), Well I will know soon well 13th Bramble will arrive anyway.
but 3ago is different, its mean to be cost efficient. for the size. . .
But to be fair I think Bertie 3ago are almost or the same price then the 1|12 version. SO for me I am rater in the part of having a smaller vinyl bertie then a bigger abs bertie .

3A figures have pretty much always been made of a mixture of ABS, vinyl and occasionally some other plastics. Really it's not a big deal, not sure why so many people make it out to be...

Solid Hardwood floor and Laminate Wood Planks, its can look the same even feel the same but some prefer Hardwood even if its pricier.
its the extra alot of people want to pay for. it had value

Re: Bertie MK2
Actually, real hardwood does in fact have many attributes that may make it the superior option compared to laminates - especially in certain climates.
However, switching to ABS for the robots is pretty much a win-win for everybody - the figures are now much more durable in heat and cold, the ABS molding process allows for crisper fine details, tolerances that make nice tight joints are now much more consistent between figures, and the lessened expansion/contraction in the plastic means that even the paint stays on better.
The only 'downside' is that the figures weight less - which saves 3A money that they then pass on to us... so really it's not a downside at all. Basically the point that I'm trying to convey is that ABS is superior in pretty much every way and clinging on to the older, more traditionally 'indie' methods is really just a bunch of stupid bullshit. Harsh words - but if you really care about the artistic element in ThreeA's products, you should know that refining the technology and making the process more professional is actually a far greater asset to any artist compared to making due with traditional elements for tradition's sake.
Most artists make designer figures out of vinyl because they're broke and it's a cheap option. So if anything people should be reveling in the fact that 3A has managed to claw their way out of the sea of generic paperweights to continue doing what they do best with the highest grade methods and materials available.

Re: Bertie MK2
I thought vinyl was more expensive and so indie artists made their designer toys out of resin. I may be mistaken or remember it wrong, it's been 5 years since i was actively into the broader category of designer toys.
Please correct me if i'm wrong.
I don't care if 3A uses vinyl, ABS, wood, or paper. Just give us top notch articulation, paint, packaging, posters, comics, and all that makes collecting 3A more special than collecting just "toys".

Re: Bertie MK2
Vinyl costs less than ABS. The more vinyl used on a figure, the lower it'll cost. Most bots are a mix of both and have been for quite some time. ABS has been used on joints, arms, legs etc.
Resin is very fragile, heavy, and difficult to work with which is why it's more expensive.

Re: Bertie MK2
hoping that newer cool painting of ddv2 number 2 holdin roths head will be the box art.
wish they took the 1000toys approach and sent out mass emails to buyers when a figure is delayed and goes beyond shipping est. sure they are bigger company and dont need to do that but would def help the image abit i think. that or get the estimates in line. to expect everyone that buys to just keep checking blog looking for updates is frustrating. routinely i think on wht its like for new to threeA customers and stop cuz it give me the chills in bad way, ha!

Yep, hope the new Dirty Deeds come with some cool posters for sure. It would be really cool if you could connect all 12 to make a huge warscape scene that you could string across your wall.
