Re: TRANSFORMERS GENERATION ONE
I don't really have too many transformer figures (4 total) and am not a huge fan of the franchise. Never owned any figures as a kid, but I did watch the show a lot. I just really like Ashley Woods design on these figures. But I'm also a huge 3A fan, so I'm supporting the cause and hope it brings megs to bambaland.

Re: TRANSFORMERS GENERATION ONE
I'm a HUGE Transformers Fan, especially Prime. Top 5:
1) Optimus Prime
2) Soundwave
3) Megatron
4) Starscream
5) Beast Wars Dinobot (finally getting an MP of him)
Special mentions:
Jazz and the Dinobots.
3A's DOTM Prime is easily my all time favourite Prime now.

Re: TRANSFORMERS GENERATION ONE
Seeing if that 20% Off Coupon with ThinkGeek would work on Ultra and it doesn't. To add insult to injury, it seems they also add $39 in tax for me since they have two Washington stores. That would be a near $100 difference between 3AA price if there had been a Bamba version. ThinkGrief...

Re: TRANSFORMERS GENERATION ONE
From the OG toy which was the Optimus Prime cab painted all white and who's trailer transformed into power armor on top. There's a long history of OP being repainted white to be Ultra Magnus from nearly every toy line.
For ours we took a bit of inspiration from the Dreamwave comics where Prime and Ultra Magnus are essentially brothers.
In current IDW continuity *SPOILER ALERT*

- Spoiler:
- Ultra Magnus is like the Dread Pirate Roberts, where the armor is secretly passed from UM to UM. The current wielder of the UM armor is Minimus Ambus.

Re: TRANSFORMERS GENERATION ONE
Pretty sure it was strictly a business move on ThreeA's part. I'm guessing they ran the numbers and figured they would only sell a certain amount of Ultra's on Bamba/retail. They struck a deal with ThinkGeek for a run of 500 which would be more than they could sell on Bamba. Just guessing....
Since the run is pretty high at ThinkGeek, and I don't think the average Transformer collector will drop $400 on a non-transforming fig, we might get lucky with them being around for a while. If they are still around after I pay for property development stuff I might spring for one. Maybe they will eventually go on sale too. Or maybe they will sell super well and I'll live with regret for the rest of my days.....

I'll be playing the waiting game on this. I don't really need it but I love the finished product and if it goes on sale, I'll bite.
@Ill - These would be great scaled down to half size.

Re: TRANSFORMERS GENERATION ONE
there may be a license issue where they cant do any other scale than these, hope not. if smaller vers comin would be so stoked, wants one but jeeebus that price tag. not sayin it isnt justified but for a non-hardcore TF fan is.. hard to swallow.

Re: TRANSFORMERS GENERATION ONE
Don't have the license to do smaller scale
Fingers crossed positive word of mouth keeps spreading and demand is there from fans and retailers
I'd love to make Megatron happen and Bumblebee and Spike. The designs the team created are all super fun

Re: TRANSFORMERS GENERATION ONE
Yeah but it's not worth the repair. I have to pay to get the body back to them and that's 100 at least. I just sent them an email asking if they can put me in contact with someone who can show me how to separate the waist and all I would need is the one replacement part and I can fix it myself. I'd rather fix it myself. I just need to know how to get the the screw holding the waist in place rather than breaking it apart. I've modified enough Hasbro tfs that I know I can do this repair myself with a little bit more info. So, see how that email goes.Cthulhu wrote:Cs ever get back to you, joshimus?
Either that or I break the other leg and it's a bust with posability. In all honesty, I just need the one part and I can fix Prime from there. It's amazing how more fluid moving the other leg is compared to the broken one. So smooth to move but the broken leg, i'm not gonna heat it up everytime I need to pose the figure. Even then it's not loose to move.

Re: TRANSFORMERS GENERATION ONE
They currently are in transit to BBTS. I don't have an estimate as to when they will arrive
Re: TRANSFORMERS GENERATION ONE
Is it possible to get a schematic on Primes waist? I am trying to convince CS to send me the part and for someone to show me how to separate the two waist halves and I can fix it myself. I already started to take parts off the waist but I can't tell which side the screw holding the halves in place is or how I should separate it safely. With that info and the replacement part (cheaper to send for both parties) I am pretty sure I can fix Prime myself. I just sent CS the same request. I don't have $100+ nor want to spend that kind of money to ship Prime back for repairs I think I can do on my own.
If I have to spend a shit ton of money to ship him back, i'd rather break the other leg, make a base and call it an articulated bust.

paint on the nemesis is impressive!
