Ashley Wood ART General Discussion (Paintings , sketches, works)

January's Previews has IDW's solicitation for the Art of Tomorrow Kings. 108 pages, HC, 10"x10", $49.99.

Gregory, are those solid details or is there anything else you can say about it? Seems like a shrunk down hardcover of the mook, but, I am curious to know if any art was added, not just subtracted.

This premiere North American edition includes new artwork and images, each selected by the artist.
IDW, hardback, 200 pages, published March 2016

I'm thinking the page count and publication date are rough.  The "premiere North American" edition is probably just marketing hype lingo since IDW is putting it out and they're from the US vs. some of Ash's recent publications being from Asian companies and 3A.

*edit - also in regards to the "premiere North American" edition, it might be used because this book resembles the mook which was an exclusive and this new book is a "2nd printing/new edition" if you will.

Heard from a friend there is supposedly a new 600 page Ash book coming from IDW in June, possibly a collection of previous work, anyone heard anything about this?

I saw a listing on Amazon for an upcoming hardcover book simply titled "Ashley Wood." Here's the short description:

The entirety of the Ashley Wood portfolio comes to bookshelves with this massive collection of all things Wood! Revel in the rich and textured world of Wood among 600 pages of luscious artwork.

Book is listed as being released on June 7/16, but there is no price shown and item is listed as currently unavailable. Release dates on books are required to allow pre-ordering to be possible, even if the date gets changed repeatedly before actually being released. Not sure if Amazon has accurate info. Tried to verify this on the IDW site but I hate how that site is laid out so I gave up on that.

12"x12" seems small compared to others of his. at 600 pages, it's going to be half as thick as it is wide

Boy, I do hope he makes a real working store where he tosses on at least quarterly updates of items for sale. Been teasing something like that for ages, but understandable he never has time to see it through.

Now if he handed over a stack of pieces and a list of prices to someone, and put them in charge of handing the funds and the shipping, boy howdy I'd love to see that and how!!!

Isn't that what Eder has always done?

Maybe if you are lucky enough to catch up with Eder in person but from a distance it's never been that straightforward.

I dunno, these days I find it hard to muster up any enthusiasm for anything Ash announces until I see proof of its actual existence. It's depressing, I still love Ash's work but I've long grown tired of the way he runs his affairs.

I was afraid of this... just got notification from Amazon that this book release has been cancelled. Anyone else get an email from Amazon? I wonder if this has been confirmed by IDW?

Same here, no email and the book is still in my account. Weird.

It looks like Amazon are still taking orders for $50 with Dec estimate.

I still have it in account for USD 27.97 with postage. Hope it stays this way.

Book looks to be slated for Dec. 16th. and still in my order history as well.

Ash has a nice chunky piece in the Levine show this month. Well priced for the size too.

The Levine preview is real nice to look at. Wish I could jump on one of those Geddes

I missed Fall by a few minutes. Jessica was too weirded out by the others. No Hale piece though?

I wouldn't mind Fury 6 or Fury 2

Not sure if Hale's piece is showing up late or not at all. We hung out with him in London, but didn't really discuss the Levine show
